What does the sign mean?
Drivers on every approach to the junction have to stop.
Where it applies
- You must stop at the stop line. If there is none, stop before you enter the crossing road.
- Only go on if it creates no danger or obstruction.
Exam trap
You must stop even if you can see the others stopping or the junction is empty.
Do not mix up with
All-way give way: then everyone gives way, but need not always stop.
