What does the sign mean?
The plate shows there is a duty to stop ahead, and how far away it is.
Where it applies
- It is only used under the give way sign.
- When you get there you must stop at the stop line. If there is none, stop before you enter the crossing road.
Exam trap
The sign above is give way, but at the junction giving way is not enough. You must stop.
Do not mix up with
Distance under give way: then it is give way, not stop, that lies ahead.
