What does the sign mean?
The arrows show in which direction from the sign the rule applies.
Where it applies
- Double arrows, horizontal or vertical: the rule applies on both sides of the sign.
- Downward arrow: the rule ends here.
- Right or left arrow: the rule applies in the direction shown.
- Under the parking sign the plate has black characters on white, without a border.
Exam trap
A downward arrow under a prohibition sign does not start the ban. It ends it.
Do not mix up with
Direction: that plate shows in which direction the thing the sign refers to lies, such as at a junction.
