Pedestrian street
Gågata
What does the sign mean?
This is a pedestrian street.
Where it applies
- Vehicles may go no faster than walking pace.
- Vehicles may not be parked.
- You must give way to pedestrians.
- Motor vehicles may only cross the street, or drive there when needed for deliveries to or from shops, transport of goods or residents to or from an address on the street, transport of hotel guests, or transport of sick or disabled people.
- The rules on speed, parking and giving way apply to all vehicles, including cycles. A cycle may be ridden here at walking pace.
Exam trap
In a motor vehicle you may not drive here just because it is the shortest way. You may cross the street, and drive along it only for the transport the law lists.
Do not mix up with
Walking-pace zone: motor vehicles may be driven there, but walking pace applies there too.
