Priority road
Huvudled
What does the sign mean?
This road is a priority road.
Where it applies
- The sign stands where the priority road starts.
- It is repeated after junctions, but not if it is clear anyway that the priority road continues. After exits from places such as properties and car parks it need not be repeated.
- You may not park on a priority road, unless a sign allows it.
Exam trap
Drivers entering the priority road usually have to give way to you, but not always, for example not cyclists on a cycle crossing. You must also always adjust your speed.
Do not mix up with
End of priority road: the sign with a line across shows the priority road ends.
