What to do when someone overtakes you
When someone behind wants to overtake: • Hold your speed: do NOT accelerate as they pull alongside • Keep to the right in your lane: giving them more space • On a narrow road with wide shoulder: consider briefly using the shoulder so they can pass more safely Speeding up mid-overtake is one of the most common reasons overtakes end badly.
