Who may supervise
A private supervisor (handledare) must be approved for the specific learner before any practice begins. To be approved they must: • be at least 24 years old; • have held a licence for the vehicle in question for at least five of the last ten years; • not have had that licence revoked in a way that disqualifies them. An approval lasts five years, and ends at once if the supervisor's own licence is revoked. There is no longer a compulsory course. The introduktionsutbildning that learner and supervisor previously had to attend together was abolished on 1 August 2026.
